Three Cranes Challenge 2022

Last weekend, Rowan and I traveled to the Karkloof Forests where he was invited to perform at the Wildseries 'Three Cranes Challenge' - a fantastic three-day trail run, and fundraiser for conservation in the area.

Naturally, I brought my camera along to take some photos of all the action.

The trail runners had to complete over 20 kilometres each day, through the breathtaking forests, fields and rivers of the KZN Midlands.

There was a 'forest fairies', and Rowan had the opportunity to bring out his inner-elf, performing for the runners as they zip-lined through the Karkloof Canopy Tour. And on the second day, Rowan performed a sun-downers set on a deck overlooking the picturesque dam at Bushwillow Caravan Park, for the runners and race village crew, who watched from the riverbanks.

This was a really memorable experience, and I must admit I had some serious FOMO while watching all the fun the runners were having. Maybe next year!
